Jillian & Preston’s Sweet Micro Wedding: A Day to Remember in Kansas City
There’s something truly intimate and magical about a micro wedding, and Jillian and Preston’s big day was a perfect example of how beautiful and personal these smaller ceremonies can be. This Kansas City couple celebrated their love with a sweet, heartfelt ceremony at The Brim, followed by a memorable afternoon of photos at the WWI Museum and an evening reception filled with joy at Life.Church Northland. It was a day that blended simplicity with meaningful moments and a touch of grandeur.
A Sweet Ceremony at The Brim
Jillian and Preston’s wedding day began at The Brim, a stunning venue in Kansas City known for its modern farmhouse charm. With only their closest family and friends in attendance, the couple exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony surrounded by classic beauty and elegance.
The ceremony itself was filled with so much love. Jillian looked stunning in her wedding dress, and Preston’s face lit up with emotion the moment he saw her walking down the aisle. The simplicity of the setting allowed the focus to remain on what truly mattered: their promises to one another.
As they exchanged rings and sealed their vows with a kiss, the happiness in the air was palpable. It was one of those moments where time seemed to slow down, and you could feel the depth of their connection and the story of how God had brought them together.
Moment of Prayer
Something that was really sweet about Preston and Jillian’s wedding was that they planned to have a moment immediately following their ceremony for their closest friends and family to be able to pray over their marriage. It was such a raw and beautiful thing to witness.
Photos at the WWI Museum
After the ceremony, Jillian and Preston took a moment to breathe and enjoy being newlyweds. We made our way to the National WWI Museum and Memorial in downtown Kansas City for their wedding portraits. The museum’s grand architecture and sweeping views of the Kansas City skyline made for a dramatic and iconic backdrop.
The towering stone monument and the expansive lawn created a perfect contrast to the intimate moments between Jillian and Preston. They stood hand-in-hand in front of the historic walls, with Kansas City spread out behind them.
One of my favorite shots of the day was capturing Preston gently scooping Jillian up and swinging her around on the breathtaking steps that perfectly captured the balance of urban elegance and heartfelt romance.
A Joyful Reception at Life.Church Northland
The day continued with a lively reception at Life.Church Northland, where Jillian and Preston’s wider circle of friends and family gathered to celebrate their love. The church’s welcoming atmosphere was filled with laughter, joy, and heartfelt stories shared from loved ones.
The reception was beautiful from the candid moments of guests mingling and celebrating, and it was clear that this couple was deeply cherished by everyone present.
A Day Filled with Love
Jillian and Preston’s wedding day was the perfect example of how a micro wedding can still be grand in its own way—full of meaningful moments, cherished memories, and beautiful settings. From the intimate ceremony at The Brim to the elegant photos at the WWI Museum and the joyful celebration at Life.Church Northland, every part of the day reflected their love and commitment.
It was an honor to capture this incredible day and witness Jillian and Preston’s journey into married life. For couples looking to balance the intimacy of a micro wedding with opportunities for larger celebrations, this day shows just how perfect that combination can be.
Here’s to Jillian and Preston and the many beautiful chapters ahead in their love story!
